Hand your agent real work. It looks up what each role is responsible for in real job postings, and follows what your team already decided.

Setup takes a few minutes. Once it's done, ask for a hiring brief or a renewal plan. Your AI brings in sourced job facts and your team's rules. When you state a rule, Phasis keeps it with a Receipt: who said it, when, and the exact words.

On your own: Claude Free, Pro or Max

The Claude Free plan allows one custom connector.

Add the Phasis connector. In claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors. Choose Add connector > Add custom connector. Name it Phasis and paste this address:

Click Add.

Connect. Click Connect. Sign in to Phasis with your email and the code we send you. Click Allow.

Add the Phasis rules skill. First turn on code execution, called Create and edit files, in Claude. Open the Phasis rules skill, version 0.1.15, on GitHub and download its SKILL.md file. Put that file in a folder named phasis-rules and zip the folder. Open Customize > Skills > + > + Create skill > Upload a skill and choose the ZIP.

The skill asks your agent to read your rules at the start of each task and to save a rule when you state it. In claude.ai chat, this comes from the skill; hooks do not run there.

Use Phasis in the chat. Open + > Connectors in your chat and turn on Phasis. Do this in each chat where you want to use it.

Tell Claude to use your rules. Paste this line once, so Claude knows to read your saved rules before it starts work. In claude.ai, click your initials (bottom left), open Settings > Your Claude, and paste this under Instructions. On the older Settings, it is Account > Instructions for Claude.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan

Each member connects Phasis once in Customize > Connectors: open Phasis, click Connect, sign in with your work email and click Allow. Your owner adds Phasis for the organization first, with the owner steps below.

In Cowork or ChatGPT Work, connect Phasis, sign in, then save a team rule.

In ChatGPT

On your own: Plus or Pro

Use ChatGPT on the web at chatgpt.com/plugins. This setup worked on Plus in our test; Pro access has not been verified. If Add custom MCP server is missing, email support@phas.is for help.

Select + > Add custom MCP server. Name it Phasis. For the description, enter Know the job and the world.

Under Connection, enter https://mcp.phas.is/mcp. Under Authentication, choose OAuth.

Read the risk notice, select I understand and want to continue, then choose Create as a plugin. Review the tools and install Phasis.

Connect Phasis and sign in with your own Phasis account.

Open a new chat, type @ and choose Phasis. Ask it to read your saved Phasis rules before it starts work.

ChatGPT asks you to confirm each save to Phasis. This connection adds the Phasis tools; it does not install a skill or hook.

Business or Enterprise: admin or owner

Open ChatGPT in the workspace you manage.

Add Phasis as a personal plugin using the steps above, then sign in and test the connection. If you already have a personal Phasis plugin, use that one.

Open Plugins > Personal, find Phasis, open its … menu and choose Share. Under Link access, choose Visible in the <workspace> directory, with your workspace's name in the label, then select Done. Phasis appears in the workspace's Plugins tab.

On Enterprise, allow the Phasis save actions as well as reads. A read-only policy blocks saves.

Each member connects with their own Phasis account. When Phasis tools change, refresh the plugin's tools.

Business or Enterprise: member

Ask your admin to choose the workspace directory option under Share > Link access for Phasis. Then open Plugins, select your workspace tab, open Phasis and choose Connect. Sign in to Phasis with your own account and select Allow. In a new chat, type @ and choose Phasis. ChatGPT asks you to confirm each save.

Claude Code

Add the Phasis plugin. It brings the Phasis connector and the rules skill.

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Phasis.

Owner setup: Claude Team or Enterprise

This part is for the owner or admin of a Claude Team or Enterprise organization. It connects Phasis where your team already works: Claude chat and Cowork.

Before you start

You need the Owner or Primary Owner role. Owners add custom connectors and manage plugins. On Enterprise, an admin with a custom role that manages connectors can also do it.
Choose a plugin ZIP upload or a private GitHub marketplace. For the Phasis plugin ZIP, email support@phas.is.

Admin steps

Turn on the parts Phasis uses. Go to Organization settings > Capabilities. Turn on Skills and Cowork. The plugin marketplace needs both.

Add the Phasis connector. Go to Organization settings > Connectors > Add custom connector. Name it Phasis. Paste this address:

Save. Phasis now shows in each member's connector list. Each member signs in with their own Phasis account.

Let the read tools run freely. Set the read tools to Allowed in the connector policy: start, get_learnings, recall, list_situations, get_situation, get_plan, get_receipt, team_plan and world_search, so they run without a prompt. Set the other tools to Allowed or Needs approval: record_correction, confirm_learning, stop_learning, act, decision_act, save_plan and shortlist_check.

On Enterprise, grant the connector to the roles that do the work. The strictest policy layer applies, and a role grant follows it.

Choose the "Always allow" switch. Go to Organization settings > Cowork > Permissions > Allow "Always allow" for connector tools. It starts off. Pick the setting that fits how your team works:

On	Each member can set a save tool to Allow for all tasks. Saves with that tool then run without a prompt.	The switch covers every connector in your organization, not only Phasis. Any member can then always-allow any connector's write tools.
Off (default)	Members approve each Phasis save, once per task in Cowork and once per call in the unified experience. A correction asks twice: once to record it, once to confirm it.	Every connector write stays under per-call or per-task approval.

Turn it on when your team saves to Phasis all day. Keep it off when every connector write must have a person's approval.

Add Phasis and make it Required. With Skills and Cowork enabled, choose one of these paths:

Simple: upload the plugin ZIP. Open Organization settings > Plugins & skills > Add > Upload a plugin and choose the Phasis plugin ZIP. Upload each new version when you want to update it.

Keeps updates: sync your own private marketplace. Create a small private repository in your own GitHub account. Add one marketplace file, .claude-plugin/marketplace.json, that lists Phasis from the public phasis-ai/plugins repository, using the plugins/phasis folder as its plugin source. Open Organization settings > Plugins & skills > Add > Sync from GitHub. Connect GitHub, choose your private repository, select Sync automatically and create the marketplace. Your private repository is the marketplace Claude syncs; phasis-ai/plugins remains the public source of the plugin.

Copy this file into your private repository as .claude-plugin/marketplace.json. It lists Phasis from the public phasis-ai/plugins repository, folder plugins/phasis. Put your organization's name in owner.

After either path, open Inventory, open the Phasis row menu and set Default access > Required. A Required plugin installs for every member, and members cannot remove it.

The plugin supplies the Phasis skills and connector address. Its rules skill asks the agent to read your saved rules before work and save a rule when you state it. The hook adds reminders in Cowork and Claude Code; hooks do not run in claude.ai chat.

Each member still connects Phasis with their own account through the organization connector you added earlier.

If your organization scans plugins, Phasis goes through that scan. For help with a failed scan, email support@phas.is.

Builders on Claude Code (optional). Set phasis-capture to Available when we add it to your marketplace. It saves decisions from Claude Code sessions. Builders add it with a Phasis key.

Make a project for each line of work. For example, "Launch" or "Hiring". Share each project by invite with Can edit. Paste the instructions from step 10.

What each member clicks

Open Customize > Connectors > Phasis > Connect. Sign in with your work email. Click Allow.

If your admin turned on the switch in step 4, open the Phasis tools in the same list. Set record_correction and confirm_learning to Allow for all tasks. These two tools then run without a prompt.

Each new chat starts from the rules you saved: the phasis plugin and your project instructions ask the agent to read Phasis first.

To check the connection, ask: "What does Phasis say about this project?" If the agent can't read Phasis, it tells you in one line, "Phasis not read:" and the reason, and carries on with the work.

Project instructions to paste

Paste this text into each project's instructions. Put the project's own line at the top.

This project uses Phasis. Phasis holds the rules, decisions and learnings that you save.
1. Before any writing or work task, call the Phasis start tool and follow the rules it returns.
2. When a person states a rule or a decision, save it in Phasis right away, without waiting for "save this". Then say in one line what you saved.
3. When a chat note and a Phasis rule disagree, follow Phasis and tell the person.
4. For a question about a job, a role or a team, call team_plan once and give its Receipt id.
5. When Phasis has no answer, say "unknown" instead of guessing.
6. If Phasis can't be read, say "Phasis not read:" and the reason in one line. If a save fails, say "Phasis did not save:" with the person's words and the reason in brackets, in one line. Then continue the work.
7. Keep keys, tokens and passwords out of chats and files.

Cowork

Cowork uses the same connector, the same plugin and the same projects as chat. Set it up once and both are ready.
With the switch off, Cowork asks for approval once per task. Your organization can also require approval on every task.
Connect only the working folder the task needs. Phasis needs no access to your computer.
Cowork's network egress setting covers code in the sandbox. Connector calls go through the connector path in Claude chat and Cowork, so Phasis works with egress at its default.

The unified experience (chat and Cowork in one place)

Enterprise: a public beta, off by default, under Organization settings > Capabilities > Chat and Cowork unified. It needs Chat and Code execution on.
Team: an opt-in switch is in your organization settings.
Phasis works the same with the unified experience on or off. Leave VM network egress at its default; Phasis needs no host added.
Connector policies apply on every call: Blocked, Needs approval and role grants.
With the "Always allow" switch off, each Phasis save asks once per call.
Organizations on ZDR, HIPAA-ready or CMEK plans use Phasis in chat and Cowork.

Other settings to check

Auto approval mode: a classifier decides each call. If a Phasis call is blocked, the call log shows it.
Inline DLP rules (Enterprise): add the Phasis tool calls to your allowed list.
Data retention: your organization's retention window covers your data in Claude chat and Cowork. Phasis keeps its own records, each with its Receipt, under its own retention and DPA.

What your team gets

Answers about roles and responsibilities that trace back to real hiring records in the World of Work, each with a Receipt.
Work that picks up where you left off. Close it, and tomorrow the work is right where you left it.
Each kept decision with a Receipt: who said it, when, and the exact words.
A plain "unknown" when Phasis doesn't have the answer, and "Phasis not read:" with the reason when the agent can't read Phasis.
